Gustavo Martins Gouveia was born in Brazil and later required Portuguese nationality. He lives in Portimão since 1995. He was pioneer developing surf in the Municipality since 1998. Together with the Clube Naval he has trained club members/athletes since 2000 and some regional champions. In 2001 he was champion in the National Surf Open, in 2003 he was 2nd place in the World Championship WQS in Praia do Amado (Aljezur), he won the Regional Open in 2016 and was a vice champion in the National Master 2016.
