Beatriz was born in 2002 in Portimão. She started sailing optimist when she was 7 in Clube naval de Portimão and started later participating in regional competitions. The will to win went on growing and in 2012 she was National Champion. Spending all her spare time sailing she added another 4 National titles and other international ones like a 6th place on the Optimist World Championship in 2016. At the age of 15 she could no longer be on the optimist class, she went on to the 420 class and started in Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura.

Testimony: “It is an honour to be ambassador of my city. It was in Portimão where I understood the value of sport. This city situated between the mountain and the sea has all the conditions for sports practice. It would be very important to consider Portimão in 2019 as European City of Sports.
